Our MES hallways are full of red, white, and blue in observance of Patriot Day. Today in unity, we honor and remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001. We are grateful for the bravery and selflessness of our first responders, the strength of the survivors, and the resilience of our nation. #PatriotDay
4th graders are learning about the four different types of social sciences: economics, geography, civics, and history. In their first lesson of our new social studies program, students read about each social science and created a web of symbols and pictures to represent each one. Students finished the lesson by doing a poster walk to notice and discuss similarities.

September is Attendance Awareness Month, recognizing that regular school attendance is essential to student achievement. Did you know that missing just 2 days per month (10% of the school year) makes it harder for students to keep up and succeed?
Our 4th graders kicked off their poetry unit by reading "Love That Dog" and exploring our poetry based independent reading text bins! We can't wait to see the work our future poets will do!

Our last day of New Staff Orientation was led by our instructional coaching team and special education coordinators. New ceritified staff learned about our coaching program, curriculum, programs, and services related to their specific roles in the district.
