Friendly reminder, Mokena families: no school on Monday! Enjoy the long weekend!

Happy Principals Month, Mrs. Chorley! We thank you for nurturing a school community at MES that allows our littlest learners to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Let’s learn more about Mrs. Chorley in today’s principal spotlight:
-Mrs. Chorley is in her 7th year as Principal of Mokena Elementary School. When asked about her experience in Mokena, she stated, “I love the Mokena community. Families are incredibly supportive and the students are wonderful, thoughtful, and kind. They come to school eager to learn! The staff is outstanding, a true community of professionals always doing what's best for kids.”
-Mrs. Chorley attended Eastern Illinois University for her undergraduate and graduate degrees in special education. She also earned a graduate degree in school leadership from Concordia University.
-Mrs. Chorley has always known she wanted to be an educator. Prior to becoming the principal at MES, Mrs. Chorley started her teaching career in Hanover Park where she spent several years before teaching in Chicago Public Schools for seven years. She stayed home for a few years with her young family and then returned to teaching in Hinsdale where she eventually became an administrator for four years.
-Mrs. Chorley has been happily married to her husband, Bill, for 22 years. She has three children, Kevin (21), Allison (19), and Megan (17). She has lived locally for over 20 years and grew up in the southwestern suburbs.
